BOWLING GREEN — The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ottawa County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 53, between E. State Rd. and SR 163, Port Clinton, will experience lane restrictions for widening. Project will last through Memorial Day (May 27). Additional restrictions will be announced.

SR 53 is closed at State Road through mid-November. Use SR 269 (Exit 125) or SR 163 (Exit 121) to access businesses on SR 53 between SR 163 and State Road.

Detours:

• Eastbound SR 2 off-ramp: Use SR 269 (Exit 125) to SR 163
• Westbound SR 2 off-ramp: Use SR 163 (Exit 121)
• Southbound SR 53 to SR 2: Use SR 163 westbound to SR 2

State Route 2, between Erie County and SR 53, Port Clinton, is reduced to one lane for road construction. The first phase of work is rehabilitation of two bridges that are at the north end of the Bay bridge. The construction zone is now active. Work may occur during daytime and overnight hours to complete this necessary bridge work before winter.
