The Oak Harbor High School Rocket Marching Band will have a very busy holiday tour of Orlando, Fla. this week, reports Band Director Travis Magoto. The holiday adventure includes stops at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
In addition to taking in the sights and sounds of sunny Orlando, the band has been selected to perform in “Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime” Parade on Sunday, Dec. 29.
During the band outing, which departs Oak Harbor on Friday, Dec. 27 and returns on Jan. 2, the band will also take part in a Disney workshop, where students will have the opportunity to work with a professional Disney musician and record a Disney soundtrack in one of Disney’s studios.
“We are very proud of our students and we’re proud to represent our school, our community, and our state”
said Magoto.
“This trip only happens once every four years, and it will undoubtedly be a trip these students remember for the rest of their lives,” said Jonathan Head, assistant director.
