Ohio Lions celebrate centennial with day of service due to COVID-19

The Ohio Lions celebrated their 100th anniversary with a Day of Service on May 17, a date scheduled to be a day of celebration at the Lions Statewide Convention. Like all other large celebrations, in response to COVID-19 this gathering was cancelled.

That did not stop Ohio Lions. With the motto “We Serve,” Lions throughout the state continued doing whatever they could for their communities.

That’s why the Marblehead Lions Club donated gift cards to Danbury and Marblehead police and to the staffed fire department for Lions Day of Service.

“Each of our lives have changed drastically in the past few weeks,” said Tom Henderson, president of the Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club. “We had the opportunity to focus on what our community needs now and how we, as Lions, could make an impact.”
