
Buhay
Port Clinton High School has singled out Diego Buhay and Olivia Eickert for earning the prestigious Senior Spotlight Awards for April.
Diego Buhay is a talented student participating in both Port Clinton High School athletics and fine arts. He is a four-year member of the Port Clinton Varsity Soccer Team and three-year captain, and a three-year member of the Varsity Tennis Team.
This year Buhay is a member of Port Clinton’s A Cappella Group, Touch of Class, and a four-year member of choir. He enjoys the challenging curriculum of Honors and College Credit Plus classes. Other clubs and activities include National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, Future Professionals in Medicine and Leadership Council. Diego also can be found volunteering his time at the popular Port Clinton Soccer Academy.
Buhay is the son of Mylene Buhay and Josh Britner. Next year, he plans to continue his education at Ohio University studying Biology with the goal of becoming a Chiropractor.
Olivia Eickert has been involved in a wide variety of extracurricular activities during the past four years. She is president of Leadership Council, and a member of National Honor Society, International Club, Ski Club, and Freshmen Mentoring.

Eickert
Eickert has been a part of the Port Clinton Varsity Tennis program for four years, serving as team captain this year. In tennis she earned Northwest District Division Honorable mention in 2021, and Sandusky Bay Conference (SBC) honors.
She has been named a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete and to the SBC All-Academic Team all four years of high school. Through National Honor Society and Leadership Council she has spent numerous hours in the community volunteering for various events. She has spent her summers teaching the next generation of Port Clinton tennis players at the school’s Summer Tennis Camp.
Next year, she has plans to major in Interior Design and minor in Business. Olivia is the daughter of Ramon and Kristen Eickert.
