Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties Executive Director Mircea Handru provided an annual report at the Feb. 29 Seneca County Commissioners meeting, and he gave updates on OneOhio region 17. The OneOhio Recovery Foundation was created to distribute settlement funds received from the pharmaceutical industry. Handru is the OneOhio Region 17 representative, which includes Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca counties.

OneOhio funds must be used for substance misuse prevention, treatment and recovery efforts. Grant registration opened on March 4. The application window on the OneOhio Grant Portal will open on Tuesday, April 2. Application submissions are due in the OneOhio Grant Portal by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Live and zoom grant application training sessions will be hosted locally, including an April 22 session that will be held at North Central Ohio Educational Service Center. An online 2024 Regional Grant Toolkit and Social Media Toolkit includes information on the RFP overview, funding priorities and an application process overview.
