The Ottawa Sandusky Seneca Solid Waste District will hold six collections for residents to drop-off outdated TV and electronic equipment. The collections will be July 22, Aug. 1, Aug. 5, Aug. 12, Aug. 19 and Sept. 26. Two collection dates are available in each county.
The District will accept glass tube televisions at a cost and flat panel televisions at no cost. To find the size of your glass tube television, measure the screen on the diagonal. A glass tube measuring 24 inches or less is $5 dollars, and greater than 24 inches is $10.
Due to limitations of the electronics recycler, bare or broken tube TVs, TVs in wood consoles, projection style and DLP TVs are not accepted. The collections are for residential TVs and electronics.
PCs, laptops, tablets and other computer components, like keyboards, routers and cords are accepted, as well as video players/recorders, digital cameras, radios and items are listed on the District’s website. Register on RecycleOSS.org at the top of the home page. Choose an event date and then an appointment time. Residents will receive an email confirmation from the District.
For those without internet access, call 419-334-7222 or toll-free at 1-888-850-7224 to register. If interested in the Farm Tire Collection, call the District from Aug. 17-28 to register. Events in the early fall that do not require registration include the Appliance Collection on Sept. 19 and Residential Tire Collection on Oct. 17.
