CATAWBA ISLAND – The Musical Arts Series in Port Clinton will present the Ottawa County Bluegrass Band on Friday, June 13, at 1:30 p.m., at the Vineyard Community Center, located at 3820 E. Village Vineyard Dr. in the Parkvue Community on Catawba Island. The concert is free and open to the public. The venue is handicap accessible.

The Ottawa County Bluegrass Band has been playing together since the late 1990s. The band is made up of brothers Dennis and Joe Mitchell and, until his passing in 2022, their father Joe Mitchell, Sr., all from Port Clinton. Currently, the band members are the Mitchell brothers, Danny Bryant from Fostoria and Simon Edwards from Waterville.

The band has a popular following in the Port Clinton area and has appeared at many fairs, festivals and other venues in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. They are presented in celebration of Father’s Day as a gift from the Arlene Kakareka Memorial Fund.
