OTTAWA COUNTY – With the arrival of warmer weather, many are eager to get out and enjoy summer events. But for older adults in Ottawa County, the local senior centers offer opportunities to connect, engage, and thrive all year long.
Operated by Ottawa County Senior Resources, the county’s three senior centers provide welcoming spaces for social interaction, educational programs, recreational activities, and a hot, nutritious meal Monday through Friday. Each center serves multiple communities:
- Ed Griswold Senior Center – Serving Genoa and Elmore residents
- Port Clinton Senior Center – Serving Oak Harbor and Port Clinton residents
- Danbury Senior Center – Serving Marblehead and Lakeside residents
Additionally, a senior center at Put-In-Bay, run by the Put-In-Bay Township Trustees, partners with Ottawa County Senior Resources to offer programs and activities to local residents and visitors alike.
“Our senior centers are more than just a place to enjoy a meal,” said Executive Director of Ottawa County Senior Resources, Tory Thompson. “They’re places to build friendships, participate in engaging activities, and access supports that help older adults live independently and confidently in their communities.”
