Anyone over the age of 18 and lives or owns property in Ottawa County is eligible to vote for two supervisors this month for the Ottawa Soil & Water Conservation District. This year’s election will have candidates Michael Harder, Todd Hecht, and Jim Sass bidding to fill the expiring terms of Hecht and Sass.

For more information on the candidates, visit ottawaswcd.com and read the newsletter.

This year you can cast your ballot in one of three ways. The Ottawa SWCD is encouraging everyone to cast a vote early by either “In-Office” voting or by submitting an absentee ballot.

You can visit the office, located at 240 W. Lake St., Oak Harbor, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to submit your vote or call 419-898-1595 to request an absentee ballot.

You’ll also be able to cast your ballot at the annual meeting and Fabulous Fifties Conservation Cruise-In dinner on Sept. 23 at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and include a BBQ chicken dinner promised to be “finger lickin’ good.” For dinner reservations call 419-898-1595 or contact beki.hineline@ottawaswcd.com.
