The Ottawa Soil & Water Conservation District will be hosting a Fabulous Fifties Conservation Cruise-In and 68th annual SWCD annual meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds in Oak Harbor.

The event will be a drive-thru style annual meeting. Everyone is encouraged to drive a classic or sporty car, if possible. A chicken BBQ will be held at the fairgrounds from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and include a BBQ chicken dinner and all the fixings that are promised to be “finger lickin’ good!”

Conservation district members will be able to cast their ballot for the election of two supervisors as they drive through the voting area. A Cooperator of the Year will also be awarded to an individual, business or agency that has shown outstanding support of past or present conservation efforts.

Contact the district office at 419-898-1595 for tickets or call a member of the Board of Supervisors, which include Rich Thorbahn, Todd Hecht, Roland Sandrock, Bill Hartman and Jim Sass. For more information contact Beki Hineline at beki.hineline@ottawaswcd.com.
