The Ottawa County Soil and Water Conservation District will gather at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, Sept. 22 for its 69th annual SWCD meeting and dinner, and to honor the agency’s Cooperator of the Year.
District officials will be hosting a BBQ, with tickets $10 for either a chicken or beef brisket dinner and sides at 6:30 p.m. The evening’s entertainment will be provided by the Bridge County Bluegrass Band, a group of five area musicians who play a variety of traditional bluegrass instrumentals and “newgrass” tunes.
SWCD members will be casting their ballots from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for the election of one supervisor. The announcement of the SWCD Cooperator of the Year will be announced for a individual, business or agency that has shown outstanding support for local conservation efforts.
Contact the District office at 419-898-1595 for banquet tickets, or contact members of the Board of Supervisors, including Rich Thorbahn, Todd Hecht, Roland Sandrock, Jim Sass or Bill Hartman.
