The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is offering a fun way to support the arts without leaving home. This year’s theme for its popular fundraiser is “Palettes and Prohibition – A Night at the Speakeasy,” a celebration of the 100th anniversary of prohibition.
Instead of an in-person event, the council is holding an online auction that will be simple to access by computer or phone, from wherever you are.
Local artists have been working hard in recent months, preparing their donated work to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Other items, like classes, gift baskets and hands-on food and drink experiences at local establishments will also be on the auction block.
The auction opens Thursday, Oct. 8, and runs until Thursday, Oct. 15. Bidding is simple, easy and secure. Just visit prohibition.givesmart.com on the computer, or text the word “prohibition” to 76278 to receive a link on a smartphone to help you track your bids over the week.
The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is a non-profit organization that supports arts in Ottawa County. Money raised from the auction goes to support local artists and services and programming offered by the arts council throughout the year.
