Pam Shirtz, Charles Allen capture Dancing with the Stars

The couple who were overall winners of the coveted Disco Ball Trophy and the Judges Choice Award in the Dancing with the Stars competition on Saturday, Nov. 18 were the teams of, left to right, Pam Shirtz and Charles Allen; and Sylvia Ferguson and Randy Genzman.

The 15th annual Dancing with the Stars fundraising event supporting the Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center was held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Sunrise Banquet Hall in Millbury. The winners of the coveted Disco Ball trophy after raising nearly $9,000 were Charles Allen and his partner Pam Shirtz. The Judges Choice Award for the best dance went to Randy Genzman and Sylvia Ferguson.

Through the hard work of all the star dancers, more than $27,000 was raised to continue to support the work of the popular center in Port Clinton. Plans are already underway for Season 16 of this fun event that provides critical funding to support families and children in Ottawa County.

Six local stars were matched with professional dancers to raise funds and have fun at the event. Those stars were Charles Allen, Lisa Chura, Ryan Clifton, Randy Genzman, Emily Lenke, and Rose Sabin. They were assisted by pro entertainers Lisa Ramsey, Sophia Ferguson, Pam Shirtz, Mookie Hany, Evangeline Young and Sylvia Ferguson.

Returning as Master of Ceremonies for the event was Judge Kathleen Giesler. Judges were Pat Adkins, Bert Fall and Debbie Tester.
