Parmigian decides to stay as B-C-S superintendent

Dr. Guy Parmigian, “after a great deal of soul searching,” has decided that his heart and passion were at Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools, and Parmigian had decided to ask the Board if he could continue his work of serving the district rather than accept a faculty position at Madonna University in Livonia, Mich.

Parmigian had planned to start in August, after eight years as superintendent with B-C-S.

B-C-S Board President Heather Dewitz announced on Saturday: “It is with great enthusiasm and confidence that the Benton-Carroll-Salem Board of Education will retain Dr. Guy Parmigian as our Superintendent. The Board is committed to maintaining the strong leadership that he has brought to our district.

“The Board, along with (Parmigian), are excited to work with the administration and staff to write the next great chapter of this school district.”

“I am grateful to this Board for the opportunity to remain at B-C-S,” Parmigian said. “There is much work ahead as we strive to build the capacity of this school district to serve the current and future generations of Rockets. I am re-energized for this effort.”
