This year, the Marblehead Peninsula Lions Club has partnered with the Marblehead Merchants to host a virtual Christmas tree lighting ceremony live on Facebook on Friday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. Children are invited to create a homemade or personalized ornament for the tree in exchange for a free raffle ticket to win great prizes.

The tree will be lit in James Park, as usual, but because of COVID-19, the event will only be held on Facebook. In addition, adults may purchase three ribbons online for $5 at donate.mhlions.com. Each $5 donation will receive one ticket to enter the raffle for fabulous prizes provided by Marblehead Merchants. The drawing will also be streamed on Facebook on Friday, Nov. 27.

Ornaments should be dropped off at any of the following merchants by Sunday, Nov. 22: Marblehead Galley/Beach Bums, Marblehead Soap Company, Martha & Molly’s, Pink Perch, Teriyaki Designs and Village Pro Hardware.
