This will be a busy week of having fun around Port Clinton, as the downtown area celebrates two great events in town — the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure and the Cabela’s MWC Walleye Tournament — with a Party in the Park. Actually there are three parties on Wednesday through Friday, June 19-21, at Waterworks Park from 3-11 p.m.
There will be plenty of entertainment on the Waterworks Park stage, as well as food trucks and cold drinks. The Wednesday entertainment includes Magician Michael Mage at 3:45 p.m. and Matt Goodrich from 6:30-10 p.m.; Hayden James plays from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday; and MAC Experience from 3-6 p.m. and the Witt Brothers from 6-10 p.m on Friday.
The Walleye Capital of the World will be the focus of a nationally-renowned field of two-angler walleye tournament teams on Friday and Saturday, June 21-22. They’ll race out of the Portage River to Lake Erie fishing grounds each morning, and bring back their large Lake Erie walleye for the weigh-ins that begin at 3 p.m. each day at the Jefferson Street Pier.
After Friday’s weigh-in, a Youth & Family Fishing Clinic will be held. The first 50 kids receiving a free rod and reel combination.
Friday’s RiverFront Live! free music concert will be on Friday at 6 p.m. on the Jefferson Street Pier. This week’s music stars are Candy Miller & the Country Classic Band.
