Port Clinton Middle School’s Builders Club organized a successful fundraiser to support the local senior center. The event, the Candy Cane Classic 2K, saw participation from 200 middle school students who ran around the campus with jingle bells attached to their shoes.

After the run, participants enjoyed hot cocoa in the school cafeteria to warm up. The highlight of the event was the collective donation from the middle school, which amounted to $473, along with 132 pairs of socks and about a dozen blankets for the senior center.

Kerry Fial, advisor for the PCMS Builders Club, expressed pride in the students’ efforts.

“It is so cool to see the kids do awesome things for their community,” Fial said.
