About 170 people attended the Ottawa County Republican Party’s annual fish fry at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds on June 21 which featured a concealed carry fashion show. The money raised by the event will be used to fund the Ottawa County Republican Headquarters, which will open at the corner of State Routes 53 and 163 on July 8.

“We need to be united as a people, not republican or democrat. We’re tired of people being pitted against each other,” said Lisa Slobodzian, who volunteered at the event. “If you don’t think things seem right in the country, come talk to us at the headquarters. It’s a place where people can come in and have those conversations. You can talk with like-minded people.”
