Perkins defeats Clyde in conference game

The Perkins Pirates won on the road in a conference game on Friday, April 19, against the Clyde Fliers 10-3. Clyde held the early lead 1-0 before Perkins began their scoring drive, putting up nine unanswered runs. In the fourth inning, it was Caden McClellan for Perkins scoring with a two-run single. In the fifth inning Perkins Ar’Ciele Oglesby-Riddle and Kendall Zeiher each had run-scoring singles. Zeiher would finish three for five with three runs batted in and two stolen bases. For Clyde, Maddie Dukeshire doubled twice, and Karissa Smith had two hits. Perkin’s record is 5-6 overall and 3-3 in the Sandusky Bay Lake Conference. Clyde has a record of 9-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

The Sandusky Blue Streaks defeated the Columbian Tornadoes 12-5. Sandusky would score in every inning. Izabell Sartor was three for three with two runs scored. Sandusky has a record of 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the Sandusky Bay Lake Conference.

The Port Clinton Redskins downed the Waite Indians 18-5. For Port Clinton, Ashton Sanchez was three for five with two home runs and five RBI, and he struck out 13 hitters.

The Vermilion Sailors won over the Open Door Christian Patriots in Elyria 21-10 on Friday, April 19. For Vermilion, Abby Gawry drove in six runs on three hits, plus a grand slam in the first inning. Vermilion scored 12 runs in the first inning and had 13 hits in the game.

The Danbury Lakers defeated the Calvert Senecas 8-5 in a home conference game on Friday, April 19. Danbury scored four home runs in the fourth inning and then two in the fifth inning. For Danbury, Ellie Fish and Ella McDonald each had two hits.
