Port Clinton Art Club honors high school artists

The Port Clinton Artists’ Club has presented high school students Levi Snodgrass, Oak Harbor; Bradley Murray, Danbury; and Andrew Swartzlander, Oak Harbor with awards of excellence for their participation in the Five County Art Show, held at Oak Harbor High School.

Their art met the criteria of craftsmanship, pleasing aesthetic, technical skill, concept and excellent use of medium. These talented young men attended one of the Club’s regular meetings to share their art and process. The students received a ribbon and monetary award.

“However, there is another award that is far more significant, one that will last their lifetime. It is the acknowledgment that someone believes in their artistic ability,” said Award Chair Linda Kelley. “Hopefully, the memory of this experience will encourage them to continue their journey in self-expression and share it with the world around them.”

For 66 years, the Port Clinton Artists’ Club has been creating art and educating its members in advancement of their chose medium. Currently, the club has an exhibition at The Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry St., Port Clinton, through Sunday, July 5. For more information contact Barbara Radebaugh, 419-341-0390.
