Update: The Boil Water alert has been lifted as of 7:22 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

The City of Port Clinton remains under a boil alert after multiple water main breaks throughout the city. Port Clinton officials conducted and submitted test samples from the system on Monday night, Aug. 26, as required by law.

The city is awaiting results of these tests and upon receiving the results will make a determination as to the status of the water system and will move forward, reported Safety-Service Director Olen Martin.

I live off of Sands Rd on Catawba Island. Is my water also on alert or is it just the City of Port Clinton proper?

Jay, the good news is that the boil water alert was lifted. We did check with the city, however, and they said that if you receive your water bill from the City of Port Clinton, then you were a part of the boil water alert. If you do not, you’re connected to the Ottawa County system. The issues that caused this problem were limited to Port Clinton’s water supply and wouldn’t affect anyone connected to the county’s system. Hope this helps!
