Huron holds off Port Clinton

PORT CLINTON — Port Clinton fell behind early and had to play catch up, something it struggled with in its 49-41 loss to Huron. The Tigers (3-3, 2-1 SBC Bay) took a 15-4 lead after the first quarter before the Redskins (1-5, 0-3) rallied to cut the deficit to 21-14 at halftime. Huron outscored Port Clinton, 28-27, in the second half.
Drew Wennes and Joey Brown scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, to lead the Tigers. Dylan Simpson had 11 points to lead the ‘Skins and Lucas Kyle chipped in with nine.
Port Clinton girls fall to Perkins
Perkins jumped out to an early lead and steadily increased its advantage, defeating Port Clinton, 56-21, in non-conference action. The Pirates (8-2) led, 21-8, after the first quarter and 38-15 at halftime. Perkins outscored the Redskins, 18-6, in the second half.
Olivia Howard scored a game-high 23 points and Aleena Winston chipped in with nine. Marie Glutch scored six points to lead Port Clinton (1-8).
