Everyone in Port Clinton and the surrounding area is invited to join in a new Christmas Celebration called “Journey’s End” on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m.

The first Journey’s End will take place in downtown Port Clinton, starting at Trinity United Methodist Church with a procession by candlelight with Mary and Joseph. They will be played by students from the Port Clinton Senior High School choir.

The procession will continue on to several churches and a local business while singing traditional carols accompanied by guitar. Songbooks will be provided.

The procession will finish at Trinity United Methodist Church for cookies, cocoa and fellowship.

Families, couples, singles and seniors are all invited to join them.

Trinity United Methodist Church of Port Clinton in collaboration with Saint Thomas Episcopal Church and Saint John Lutheran Church, Truth Ministries Church and RJ’s Ice Cream and Desserts are teaming to create Journey’s End. Their objective is a new way to celebrate Advent and to understand the real meaning of Christmas.

As you prepare for Christmas with lights, decorations, trees, and shopping, did you ever think about what Mary and Joseph went through in Bethlehem? It was a long uncomfortable trip on a donkey, with no place to stay. Mary was not only pregnant, but she was ready to deliver.

Journey’s End seeks to put everyone into the Bible story to feel the rejection as Mary and Joseph search for lodging and the joy when they find a lowly stable for the birth of a King.
