With the start of the 2019-20 school year just around the corner, the Port Clinton City School District has numerous orientations and open houses scheduled for students and their parents. Prior to school there are also dates for older students to pay school fees and pick up schedules and supply lists.
These sessions provide an opportunity for students and their parents to become familiar with their school setting and meet with the faculty and staff of each building. The first day of school for Port Clinton City Schools is Monday, Aug. 26.
Port Clinton High School students in grades 11–12 can pick up schedules and pay any outstanding fees on Aug. 13 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. On Aug. 19, grade 10 student schedules and fees may be paid from 9 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Freshmen Orientation or “Frosh Fest” is planned for Friday, Aug. 16 beginning at 8:30 a.m. for schedule pick up in the PCHS Performing Arts Center Lobby from 9 a.m.–noon. The Port Clinton High School Open House will be on Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Port Clinton Middle School welcomes and encourages students and parents to walk through the building and find their classrooms, locker during schedule pick up times.
Schedule and important paperwork pick up days are Aug. 19-21 from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Evening hours on Aug. 20 from 5–6:30 p.m. Students are welcome to return as often as they like during these times to practice their locker combinations and become familiar with the school building.
The New Student Summit will be held on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at PCMS. The Summit is for both students and parents in grade 6 or new to the district. The new student welcome dance is Aug. 21 from 1-2 p.m.
Bataan Kindergarten Orientation is Aug. 29 at 9:15 a.m. for last name (A-L) and parents; 1:15 p.m. for last name (M-Z) and parents. Bataan Memorial Open House for grades 1 and 2 will be Aug. 22 at 5:30 p.m. Bataan Intermediate Open House will be Aug. 22 at 5 p.m.
Champions for Children, the Port Clinton City School District Before and After School Program, provides a safe setting for children of working parents.
