With the start of the 2023-24 school year just around the corner, the Port Clinton City School District has numerous orientations, schedule pick up days, and open houses scheduled for students and their parents. These sessions provide an opportunity for students and their parents to become familiar with their school setting and meet with the faculty and staff of each building. The first day of school for Port Clinton City Schools is Monday, Aug 28.

Port Clinton High School students in grades 10–12 can pick up schedules on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 21-22 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Freshmen Orientation or “Frosh Fest” is planned for Thursday, Aug 24 beginning at 7:30 a.m. for schedule pick up in the Port Clinton High School Performing Arts Center Lobby. The program is from 7:45 a.m. until noon. Students and parents learn important information about high school and students have the opportunity to walk through their schedules. Port Clinton High School Open House will be on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Port Clinton Middle School welcomes and encourages students and parents to walk through the building and find their classrooms and locker during scheduled pick up times. Schedule and important paperwork pick up days are Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 16-18 from 9–11 a.m. Students are welcome to return as often as they like during these times to practice their locker combinations and become familiar with the school building.

The New Student Summit will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Middle School. The Summit is for both students and parents in grade 6 or new to the district. New student ”Welcome to Middle School Scavenger Hunt” is Thursday, Aug. 24 at 1:30 p.m., a fun and exciting way to get familiar with their new school building. Middle School Open House is Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Bataan Kindergarten Orientation is Thursday, Aug 31 for new students with last name (A-H) and parents beginning at 9:15 a.m. and last name (I-Z) students and parents begins at 1:15 p.m. Bataan Memorial Open House for both Primary (grades 1-2) and Intermediate will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 5-6 p.m. Bataan class lists will be posted on Friday, Aug 18.

Champions for Children, the Port Clinton City School District Before and After School Program, provides a safe setting for children of working parents.
