
The Port Clinton High School Drama Club members work on their first read-through of the “Fall One Act Festival” they will present on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14. Drama Club advisors had to get very creative in order to allow the fall production to take place with COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Port Clinton High School Drama Club will present a “Fall One Act Festival,” thanks to the creativity of Drama Club Advisors Catherine Haskins and Annie Head. Students will perform three one-act plays that are 10 to 15 minutes each.
The three acts are titled “The Question,” “Bank Withdrawal Symptoms,” and “The 42nd Annual Pie-Rating Convention.”
The “Fall One Act Festival” will take place on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14 in the Port Clinton High School Performing Arts Center. “The Question” will be about four androgynous aliens from the other side of the cosmos. Bip, Bop, Bleep and Blop abduct a hapless young man from Earth to ask him their planet’s most troubling question. When young Andy hears the question, however, all he wants to do is go back to bed in his own plane of reality.
Cast members are: Bip – Ashton Fisher; Bop – Kat Fillmore; Bleep – McKenna Boling; Blop – Lillie Rolen; and Andy – Mark Phillips.
In “Bank Withdrawal Symptoms,” robbing a bank is hard enough, and it doesn’t get any easier when the lobby is filled with congenial customers and their side issues and conversations among the victims keep interrupting the robbery.

The third act takes the audience to “The 42nd Annual Pie-Rating Convention,” where due to an apparent breakdown in communication, a crew of pirates unwittingly crashes the 42nd Annual Canadian Pastry Judging Convention leaving the good-natured Canadian patriot Alan to handle the situation.
