Hazel Brown and her Catawba family are struggling with the three-year-old’s rare, inoperable form of brain cancer, and another of many social organizations around the community have stepped up to help. The Port Clinton Fraternal Order for Eagles Aerie 2295 in downtown Port Clinton presented the family last week a check for $20,000 to help with medical expenses during a special ceremony at Twin Oast Brewing on the Catawba Peninsula.
At the check presentation were little Hazel and her parents, Wes and Leah Brown, and Port Clinton Eagles members Rick Ward, left, and Russ Havener and Bill Schnell, right. (Photo by D’Arcy Patrick Egan)
