Port Clinton Fire Chief Kent Johnson has been put on paid administrative leave following a complaint of sexual harassment, assault and financial impropriety.
Port Clinton Safety Service Director Tracy Colston issued a statement that Johnson was placed on leave June 6 following allegations by the Chandra Law Firm on behalf of a client. Port Clinton officials are having the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and
Investigation investigate the criminal allegations through a joint referral with the Port Clinton Police Department, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office, according to Colston’s statement.
Colston said the city will have no comment on the allegations until the investigations are completed.
Johnson joined the Port Clinton Fire Department in 1992 and was named chief in 2008.
