Port Clinton High School Announces 2024 PCHS Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee

Greg Perry was inducted into the PCHS Alumni Hall of Fame.

The Port Clinton High School Alumni Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the 2024 inductee is Greg Perry. Perry will join the elite group of Port Clinton High School alumni recognized for their outstanding academic achievement and contributions in their field. The induction will take place during the Rotary Honors Banquet at Port Clinton High School on Wednesday, May 1.

Perry, a 1989 graduate of Port Clinton High School, received his Bachelor in Marketing Education in 1993 followed by a Masters in Education from Marygrove College in 1999. Following graduation from The Ohio State University, he began a career in professional sales. An opportunity to create a new high school marketing program lead him into teaching. He taught marketing for 31 years. For the past 18 years, he taught at Beachwood High School as part of the Excel TECC Career Consortium. The Beachwood Marketing Program attracts seniors from ten different high schools from Cleveland’s eastern suburbs. Over the past 18 years, Beachwood Junior Achievement has raised over $1.5 million dollars for causes related to sustainability, health, wellness, youth entrepreneurship, innovation, food insecurity, unity, diversity and fresh water. This year, his class raised $175,000 for critically ill children.

Alongside teaching, Perry has balanced a career as the owner of ReDesign GWP LLC. After appearing on HGTV twice and on numerous home tours, his design career has grown tremendously. High profile clients hire him to design luxury homes across Ohio and the U.S. His students benefit from his entrepreneurial background and from interaction with many of his clients. His clients recognize his commitment to inspiring young people and being a transformative figure in his students’ lives.

Perry has been recognized with numerous awards and honors including the Heart of Green Award, Harvard Business Club of Northeast Ohio Entrepreneurship Education Award, Junior Achievement Hall of Fame, Junior Achievement NFTE Yale Ambassador, and INC’s One To Watch. He is a member of the Governor’s Committee for Creativity and Innovation and the Sandusky Yacht Club.

Perry said Port Clinton High School influenced his life.

“Having grown up on Catawba Island, I knew that I wanted to be in the Port Clinton High School Marketing Program during my senior year as long as I could remember,” he said. “Tom Maher’s marketing program was transformative in its approach and recognized as the best in the nation. As students, we didn’t just learn about the theories of business, marketing and entrepreneurship, we engaged in them. We became a part of the free enterprise system. We created businesses, we executed branding, and we committed ourselves to corporate responsibility and ethics. Tom Maher and the marketing program transformed my life’s trajectory.”
