Port Clinton High’s Touch of Class at RiverFront Live!

Band Director Bruno Bush and Port Clinton High School’s Touch of Class, which competes annually in the International Competition of High School A Cappella (ICHSA), will be on the RiverFront Live! Stage in the Meals on Madison Area in downtown Port Clinton on Friday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m.

The heralded Touch of Class is Port Clinton High School’s top vocal ensemble, specializing in contemporary a cappella singing. The group will make a special appearance on the RiverFront Live! Stage in the Meals on Madison Area in downtown Port Clinton on Friday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m.

The group is composed of students in all grades, with participation in sports, clubs, other musical ensembles, and drama productions in and out of school. Touch of Class competes annually in the International Competition of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) and has been a quarterfinalist for the past two seasons.

Outside of competition, Touch of Class regularly performs dozens of concerts throughout the community, giving the students ample performance experience before leaving high school. Today, Touch of Class alumni can be found performing and directing a cappella ensembles at various colleges throughout the country.

Band Director Bruno Bush is the vocal music teacher for Port Clinton Middle School and High School, where he directs all five academic choirs, Touch of Class, the Spring Musical, and the Performing Arts Center. He is an alumni of the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, where he studied Music Education, Voice, Piano, and Conducting.

Outside of Port Clinton, Bush is a sought-after musical director for a variety of theatre companies in the state. Currently, he is the Music Director for Sandstone Summer Theatre in Amherst, Ohio.
