Port Clinton Middle School Academic Challenge Teams place third at Championship

The Port Clinton Middle School Academic Challenge Teams both placed third at the recent Champions of Champions Match. Port Clinton Middle School Academic Challenge teams in grades 7 and 8 were the Ottawa County Academic Challenge Champions. The champions of each grade level advance on to the “Champions of Champions” competition at Bowling Green State University Firelands to compete against other local county champions.

Both teams placed third and the seventh grade even went into a sudden death round. The Port Clinton Middle School seventh grade team members are Calleigh Fought, Isabella Hill, Kendyll Hartlaub, Micaela Wiechman, Maxon Fluckinger and Griffin Miller.

Eighth grade team members are Shantha Weit, Abram Sandvick, Evan Roberts. Kerry Fial is the Port Clinton Middle School Academic Challenge Advisor.

“Every member hustled for answers, exhibited teamwork, grit, and thirst for knowledge,” said Fial. “It was an awesome day for Port Clinton!”
