Principal Carrie Sanchez and seventh grade language and arts teacher Annie Head of Port Clinton Middle School celebrated an award-winning adventure in Washington DC at The National Forum’s 15th annual Schools to Watch Conference last week by taking along The Beacon, their favorite newspaper. Principal Sanchez was named the Distinguished Leader of the Year and the Port Clinton Middle School was one of three Ohio schools and one of 170 nationwide honored with the National School to Watch Award. The school was also honored for excellence in Academic Achievement, Developmental Responsiveness , Social Equity and Innovative Organizational Structure.
