Port Clinton to honor Athletic Hall of Fame winners on Saturday

Port Clinton High School is proud to announce the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022. These inductees will be recognized on Friday Sept. 16, during the Redskins home football game vs. Toledo Rogers.

The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Port Clinton Elks Lodge starting with refreshments at 5 p..m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

The five athletes to be honored are:

DON DRUSBACKY

Don Drusbacky has long-served the Port Clinton City School District as a teacher in the Social Studies Department and a coach in the Athletic Department. He has been honored for 50 years of service to the Boys Basketball Program and received the prestigious Bob Arnzen Award presented by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association for longevity at an OHSAA School. In addition to serving as the head football coach at his alma mater, he also served as the interim head basketball coach after the passing of the beloved Tom Bodager.

ALLIE REYNOLDS (2011)

Allie was a standout in swimming and track and field at Port Clinton High School. In the pool, she was a member of multiple relays that qualified for the State Championships her Junior and Senior years, 2010 and 2011. She earned All-Ohio Honors both years based on top 8 finishes. In track and field, throwing both the shot put and discus, she was an SBC Champion, a District Champion, a Regional Runner-Up and the State Runner-Up in the discus her Senior Year. After Graduation, Allie attended Bowling Green State University, competing in both swimming and track and field.

NIUL MANSKE (1994)

Niul earned eight varsity letters in Cross-Country, Swimming, and Track and Field. He was a member of the 1991 SBC Championship CC Team, SBC Champion in the 1600 Meter Run (T & F), school record holder in the 200 Meter Free Relay (Swimming). Niul was a part of 57 1st Place Finishes in High School in his three sports. After graduation from high school Niul attended Trinity University where he was All-Conference in cross country and Track & Field and set the school record in the 1500 Meter Run. After graduation from Trinity, Niul went on to be a Pentathlete where at one time he was ranked No. 1 in the USA, 9th in the world, and was a 2006 Pan American Games Champion.

CHELSEA BECK CARVALHO (2010)

Chelsea was a standout tennis player for the Lady Redskins from 2006-2009. She concluded her high school career with 121 wins, which ties her for the most all-time in the prestigious Port Clinton Girls Tennis Program. In addition to being a multiple SBC Champion, Chelsea qualified for the State Tournament all four years of High School. After graduation she attended Tiffin University, amassing 120 Wins, 75 at Doubles, and second all-time at Tiffin University at graduation.

MARCUS HUNT (2010)

Marcus was a 4-year lettermen for the Redskin Golf Team. Marcus was First-Team All-SBC over three years and was the Sandusky Bay Conference Player of the Year his Junior and Senior Year. In OHSAA Tournament Play, Marcus advanced to the District Tournament all four years of high school, was Sectional Medalist his Junior and Senior years. He advanced to the DII State Tournament his Junior year, finishing 27th out of 72 Golfers. Marcus graduated from the University of Findlay where he was a 4-year letterman on the Mens Golf Team, an All-GLIAC two years and All-Midwest Region one year. He left Findlay with the 6th lowest scoring average in school history
