A stellar athlete and scholar for Port Clinton High School, senior Owen Auxter was recognized for making the Top 30 Scholar Athletes at the Ohio High School Athletic’s Northwest Ohio District Banquet on Wednesday, June 21.
Auxter attended the banquet with his parents, Kim and Angie Auxter, and Port Clinton High School Assistant Athletic Director Scott Cross.
“Recipients are selected based on a point system which rewards students for grade point averages; class rank; community service; varsity letters earned; and individual and team athletic honors,” said Ohio High School Athletic Association officials.
The number of scholarship recipients from each district are based upon the number of schools within the district. Students must be a graduating senior with a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale upon completion of the seventh semester. They must also have received a minimum of three varsity letters in one OHSAA sanctioned sport or four varsity letters in a combination of any two or more OHSAA sanctioned sports.”
