Port Clinton Middle School Student, Shantha Weit, has qualified for The Blade’s Final Regional Spelling Bee.

Port Clinton Middle School’s Spelling Bee champion Shantha Weit has qualified for The Blade’s Final Regional Spelling Bee. Weit is in the finals after to a great performance on the Regional Qualifier-level online test.

In addition to being an outstanding speller, Weit is involved in band and Young Entrepreneurs Club at Port Clinton.

The Final Regional Bee will be administered via a traditional competition at Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts. The winner of the Final Regional Bee will compete in the 2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington, D.C.
