PORT CLINTON – The Portage Resale Center Youth Council Class of 2024-2025 recently completed their year by awarding $15,000 in Wish List Grants to 18 Ottawa County nonprofit organizations. The gifting ceremony was held on Sunday, April 13, at the Portage Resale Center in Port Clinton with students, parents, and nonprofit representatives present. During the year, the students visited 17 area nonprofits to learn how these groups serve the community, while getting hands-on experience helping the nonprofits with their projects. They also learned the grant-making process by accepting grant applications from the nonprofits and then discussing and determining which grants to award.

The Council consists of one senior and one junior from each of the following five Ottawa County high schools including: Danbury – Park Wilhite & Charley Lenthe, Genoa – Jaylin Smith & Lyla Sprague, Oak Harbor – Brayden Wallace & Madison Hand, Port Clinton – Sam Roberts & Gabbie Heilmann, and Woodmore – Justin Kiger & Zoey Bauder.
