The deadline to register for the 50 Shades of Purple Project scavenger hunt is Friday, Oct. 8. The goal of 50 Shades of Purple Project is to raise awareness about domestic violence for the participants and the community.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and purple is the color associated with observing it. Victims, survivors, and advocates are all invited. Each team must have four to six people, and teams are encouraged to have at least one male member.
Participants will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Meals on Madison area in the northern half of 100 block of Madison Street. The scavenger hunt will begin at 3 p.m. and conclude before dusk.
Cost for the scavenger hunt is $20 per person. Registration forms are on the Facebook page; or at Community Support Services, 1848 E. Perry St., Suite 60, Port Clinton; by calling 419 734-9494; or at 323 Buckeye Blvd., Suite 1, Port Clinton, 419-734-3266.
Those who would like to volunteer for the event can use the same contact information. Some volunteers can be seated during the event, while others will need to be on their feet.
