Award-winning Put-in-Bay author Bob Adamov has released his 13th mystery adventure novel, “Assateague Dark.” The prolific writer also hinted the Catawba Peninsula is in the spotlight in his next novel, “Memory Lane.”
“I like to call Chincoteague Island on Virginia’s Eastern Shore region, which is the location for this mystery, sort of Put-in-Bay on Valium. The quiet allure of the coastal island is interrupted by a plot featuring drug trafficking on the Cocaine Highway, which runs through the Delmarva Peninsula,” said Adamov.
“I continued with my practice of incorporating local characters in my plot. This novel features two of my rowdiest friends, Roe Terry in Chincoteague and Chuck Meier from Key West. Meier was the master of outrage when starring in the Science Channel’s “The Curse of the Bermuda Triangle.”
“Assateague Dark” continues the popular and growing Emerson Moore series created by Adamov in 2002. His string of island bestsellers have taken his readers far and wide with a style that has been compared to authors Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy.
Adamov’s tale begins with investigative reporter Emerson Moore heading to Chincoteague Island to recover from physical and mental wounds brought on by his near-death escape in Cuba. He decides to ponder his future and rest quietly in the home of legendary Chincoteague Island duck carver Roe “Duc-Man” Terry, but his peace and quiet was disrupted when he became embroiled in a drug trafficking operation on the Delmarva Peninsula.
With the help of Roe Terry and Chuck “Big Daddy” Meier, Moore’s investigation unearths information that results in a lethal confrontation with drug lord Max Steiner at Steiner’s Kings Creek waterfront fortress in nearby Cape Charles. Moore accompanies the Drug Task Force on several raids in hopes of building a case that will stick against the slippery Steiner. The closer Moore comes, the odds stacked against him become deadly.
“Assateague Dark” is available at Northern Exposure, The Great Lakes Popcorn Company, Overboard Bar & Grille, New Wave Scuba, Bassett’s Market and Joseph Wise Fine Clocks. Autographed copies are available at www.BobAdamov.com.
