The Port Clinton Area 4th of July Celebration Committee is kicking off fundraising efforts this year with a Big Bang. The Big Bang Reverse Raffle kicked off on April 1. Raffle tickets are $100, and only 200 will be sold.

If all 200 tickets are sold, winning tickets will be pulled in the Walleye Festival Entertainment Tent on Thursday, May 23, from 5-7 p.m. The last three tickets pulled will win $500, $1,500 and $7,500 respectively.

“The Big Bang is not only the $7,500 grand prize, but the satisfaction participants earn by playing a part in helping the PC area celebrate the 4th of July,” said event Committee Chairman Mike Snider. “Three friends each pitch in $33 and change; they could each go home with $2,500. Ten co-workers each pitch in $10 and change; they could each go home with $750. Not a bad return for a great cause.”

Raffle tickets are available online through EventBright.com (search Big Bang Reverse Raffle).

Nicole Kochensparger, President of the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce and Director of Main Street Port Clinton, knows that maintaining and celebrating our freedoms is the responsibility of all of us.

“The 4th of July gives each community in America the opportunity to celebrate Independence Day in their own unique fashion. We do a very good job in Port Clinton,” Kochensparger said. “However, the reality is, it takes the entire community to make it happen. The Big Bang Reverse Raffle is the perfect way for the entire community to be part of the bigger celebration of freedoms we all share and enjoy.”

Independence Day festivities will be held on Thursday, July 4, and will include a 5K Run/Walk, Firecracker Cutie Contest, Ice Cream Social, Classic Car-Truck-Cycle Show, Voices of Freedom Concert, Food Truck Feast, Family Dance Party and fireworks!
