Have outdated electronics or clothing items that are still usable or in rough shape? Take them to the Port Clinton Lakefront Preserve on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for the second Refuge Recycle Round Up.

Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting the drop off location with the help of Recycle I.T. USA Toledo LLC and Clothes Bin Ohio.

The Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge manages the Lakefront Preserve in partnership with the City of Port Clinton. The Port Clinton Lakefront Preserve is on East Perry Street (Route 163). The Recycling Roundup will be held in the parking area near the Port Clinton Lighthouse. For more information, contact Aimee Arent at 419-898-0014 Ext. 13 or friendsofottawanwr@gmail.com.

This is a fantastic opportunity to keep these items out of the landfill. Those wishing to participate may recycle their items for $10 per carload (cash only). Funds will help to support conservation efforts at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge will receive cash per pound for recycled textiles, so be sure to clean out your closets for this great cause.

The event will occur rain or shine. Event volunteers will be following the CDC social distancing guidelines including wearing masks, and recyclers are encouraged to do the same.

Electronics items accepted include: computers/servers, keyboards and mice, monitors/displays, cell phones, storage devices/flash drives, video game consoles, printers, scanners, memory/RAM, networking hardware, stereo equipment/speakers, and projectors (no TVs/ CRT monitors).
