The Ottawa Sandusky Seneca (OSS) Joint Solid Waste District will be hiring an intermittent part-time recycling collection assistant to begin immediately.

Hours for the position will be up to 29 per week with a varying schedule (typically 4 days per week from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with occasional Saturday hours).

The collection assistant will collect and transport materials throughout the three-county district using a box truck, a pickup truck or a pickup-flatbed trailer combo.

The collection assistant will also fill in at the recycling processing facility and become familiar with various types of equipment including forklifts, a hydraulic tote tipper, and a commercial baler. The employee will also assist in maintaining the District’s Aim to Be Green Recycling sites. A CDL is not required but a good driving record is. Aptitude in minor maintenance, accurate record keeping, and the ability to lift loads up to 50 pounds are also necessary. The rate of pay is $10 per hour and includes pension benefits.
