Port Clinton football players Travis Yarnell, Taylor Scheirberg, and Dagan Meyers used teamwork to clean the museum windows.
Head Coach Eric Leuthold of the Port Clinton High School Football Team scored a touchdown recently, bringing 11 of his players to the Catawba Island Union Chapel Museum to help out with a community service project. The student athletes weeded the grounds and put a shine on the museum’s many windows.
It was a team effort, said museum officials, and also earned the players credit points in the Redskin squad’s Accountability Team Program which encourages education and good citizenship.
Union Chapel Museum is operated by the Catawba Island Historical Society. It is open from mid-May to mid-October on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available at www.catawbaislandhistoricalsociety.com.
