The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and Ohio Sea Grant announce registration is open for the 8th Annual Ohio Clean Marina Conference. This conference, held on February 29 at the Maumee Bay Resort and Conference Center, is an opportunity for marinas owners and operators from around the state to hear from experts on environmental topics that help them to protect their greatest asset – Ohio’s waterways.

Speakers will cover harmful algal blooms, carbon monoxide safety, waste reduction, grant writing and more. Registration is $55 and includes lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments. The event is open to all Ohio marina owners and operators, staff and the Ohio Clean Marinas Program Partners.

The Ohio Clean Marinas Program is a partnership between Ohio Sea Grant and ODNR which started in 2005 to recognize marinas that choose to adopt best management practices to improve the environmental, educational and economic aspects of their operations. Financial assistance for the program is provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, through the Ohio Coastal Management Program, administered by the ODNR Office of Coastal Management. Additional funding is provided by the ODNR Division of Parks and Watercraft and Ohio Sea Grant.
