Richard J. Molnar, 80, of Port Clinton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born May 12, 1941, in Port Clinton, the son of Paul and Mary (Holly) Molnar. He married Diane Gill on Sept. 28, 1963, and she survives. Richard worked for Kroger Company in Port Clinton for 50 years. He worked at four different Kroger locations in Port Clinton during his career, retiring in 2006. Richard was a member of the Port Clinton Fire Dept. & E.M.S from 1968 – 1995 retiring as a Captain. He was one of the original members of the Port Clinton E.M.S. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and he was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians Fan.
Surviving are his wife: Diane; children: Douglas Molnar of Marblehead, Dawn (Kevin) Mulligan of Fremont, Richard P. (Janae) Molnar of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Courtney Prentice of Fostoria, twins Jude and Julia Molnar of Port Clinton; sister-in-law: Linda Molnar of Port Clinton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Paul Molnar, Robert Molnar and David Molnar.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, where visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Due to COVID the family kindly asks that those attending the visitation and funeral service please wear a mask. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
