
The Ford Tri-Motor, better known around Port Clinton and the Lake Erie Islands as the “Tin Goose,” will be available for rides on July 16-19 at Put-in-Bay.
Liberty Aviation Museum’s 1928 Ford Tri-Motor, City of Port Clinton/City of Wichita, will return to Put-in-Bay on July 16-18, offering rides to the public.
These sightseeing flights will be available from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for three days only and will depart from the Put-in-Bay airport. (All flights are weather permitting.)
This is a great opportunity to see and experience a true piece of living history while enjoying a unique bird’s eye view of the beautiful Lake Erie islands.
Tickets are $77 for adults and $52 for children. Discounted tickets can be purchased prior to the event by visiting www.flytheford.org or calling 1-800-359-6217.
A portion of each ticket sold will help fund the Ford Tri-Motor restoration project located at the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton.
The Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton will giving young and old adventurers the chance to once again ride the venerable Ford Tri-Motor airplane over the skies of Port Clinton and the Lake Erie Islands.
The flights aboard “The Tin Goose,” as it was affectionally known around Port Clinton and the Lake Erie Islands, are designed to give people a chance to relive the original airplane rides that were often the only way to gain access the islands throughout the year in the first days of commercial airline travel.
Future flights from Liberty Aviation Museum of the Ford Tri-Motor are being scheduled for Sept. 3-6 and Oct. 1-3.
