Robert F. Zibert, 83, of Port Clinton passed away Thursday, June 25, at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born August 18, 1936 in Cleveland, the son of John and Mary (Glavic) Zibert. Robert graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1955 and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He married his loving wife Mary Lou Stout on Feb. 20, 1960, and she preceded him in death on October 9, 2019. Bob started working at Clinton Men’s Wear his sophomore year of high school and later became co-owner of Clinton Men’s Wear, Downtown Port Clinton. He also worked for The Jet Express. He was a member of the Port Clinton Athletic Boosters serving as President for two years and he was a member of Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718 for 48 years.
Surviving are his children: Lynn (Darrell) Domokos, Bobbi (Doug) Mahler, John (Kim) Zibert, Andrea (Steve) Wagner; grandchildren: Mitchell Domokos, Mindy (Anthony) Maschari, Ryan Mahler, Kaitlyn Jones, Adam Zibert, Christopher Zibert, Morgan Zibert, Paige Zibert, Betheny (D.J.) Foos, Lilly Wagner; great-grandchildren: Brady Domokos, Gunner Domokos, Clayton Jones; siblings: Ted (Kathy) Zibert, Patricia (Trent) Lamb, Pete (Denise) Zibert and his furry companion Sophie. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Lou and grandson: Matthew Zibert.
A funeral mass to celebrate the Life of both Bob and Mary Lou will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, July 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH. Private interment services will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be given to Port Clinton Elks #1718 or Port Clinton Athletic Boosters.
