Oak Harbor High School Rocket Marching Band had a very busy tour in Orlando, Fla. last week. The band made stops at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
In addition to taking in the sights and sounds of sunny Orlando, the band was selected to perform in the “Magic Kingdom March” Parade on Friday, Dec. 29 at Magic Kingdom. The band also took part in a Disney workshop, where students will have the opportunity to work with a professional Disney musician and record a Disney soundtrack in one of Disney’s studios.
“We are very proud of our students and we’re proud to represent our school, our community, and our state” said Travis Magoto, director of the high school band.“This trip only happens once every four years, and it will undoubtedly be a trip these students remember for the rest of their lives,” said Jonathan Head, assistant director.
This trip concludes a very busy marching season for the Oak Harbor High School Marching Band. In addition to 13 varsity football games and other local events, the band also performed at the Clyde Band Showcase. In November, the band performed at a “Skull Session” in front of over 10,000 spectators as special guests of The Ohio State University Marching Band prior to the Ohio State -Michigan State football game.
