Rockets defeat Rossford from long range, 68-49

The Oak Harbor boys basketball team opened the season on Tuesday, Dec. 5 with a win over the visiting Rossford Bulldogs, 68-49, in Northern Buckeye Conference action. Ethan Stokes was the high scorer for Oak Harbor with 23 points. Carson Slates would add 13 points and Carson Steinbrick had 12 points.

It was a total team effort as the Oak Harbor Rockets hit 10 3-pointers.

The Rockets were victorious again on Friday, Dec. 8 against the Genoa Comets, 57-51. The undefeated Rockets will now take on the Clay Eagles on Tuesday, Dec. 12 in conference action.

Oak Harbor girls lose heartbreaker to Fostoria, 35-34

The Oak Harbor Girls basketball team started the season on Friday, Dec. 1 with a non-conference away game against the Fostoria, losing a heartbreaker, 35-34. The Rockets girls’ team would come roaring back on Monday, Dec. 4 to overwhelm the Woodward Polar Bears, 62-10. The Rockets won again on Thursday, Dec. 7 in their second conference game of the season as they defeated the Genoa in a close game, 43-40.

Up next for the Oak Harbor girls team will be on Saturday, Dec. 9 against the Lake Flyers in an away conference game.
