Rockets fall to Eastwood, 83-51

Oak Harbor played one of the area’s best teams in Eastwood and found out how good the Eagles are.

Eastwood (6-0) won handily, defeating the Rockets, 83-51.

The Eagles jumped out to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back before cruising to victory. Eastwood has won every game this season by at least 13 points.

Star forward Jamie Schmeltz led the way for the Eagles, scoring 20 points, including four 3-pointers, and Brenna Moenter (15) and Aubrey Haas (13) helped to pace the offensive attack as six Eastwood players scored at least seven points apiece. Eastwood also converted on 10 3-pointers.

Oak Harbor’s Auna Tack had 22 points to lead all scorers and Riley Steinbrick chipped in with 10 points.
