Coach: Chris Rawski

Last year: 22-8 (6-4 SBC Bay)

Outlook: Oak Harbor has unfinished business to attend to.

Last year, the Rockets fell just short of winning their third district championship in five years, losing to Wauseon in heartbreaking fashion. With most of their pitching and hitting returning, there’s no reason to believe Oak Harbor can’t redeem itself.

“We want to compete for the SBC Bay Division title and have a chance to win a district title,” said Oak Harbor coach Chris Rawski. Even though we’re 10 games in, it’s still super early and we have a lot to work out with ourselves.”

Reagan Schultz leads the way in the circle and in the batter’s box. The senior is the Rockets’ starter. Alyse Sorg and Ashley Schiller could also see time in the circle.

Sorg or Schiller will hit leadoff and the other one will hit sixth. Then there’s Schultz, who also plays center field, 3B Remi Gregory, 1B Porter Gregory, LF Emily Sommers, C Allie Giezie, RF Sydney Overmyer and SS Reese Adkins. Freshman Hannah Schimmoeller will also see playing time, as will Ava Geyer and Isabel Jensen.

Rawski thinks the division is up for grabs.

“I think the league is wide open. Every team is really good,” he said. “With the injury to Maloney in Huron, I think it’s wide open for everybody.”
